It has been 20 years since Professor Margaret Montoya published her classic article,
MASCARAS, TRENZAS, Y GRENAS:* UN/MASKING THE SELF WHILE UN/BRAIDING LATINA STORIES AND LEGAL DISCOURSE**
Her article is used across many disciplines, and especially in Law Schools across the country.
In fact, both Harvard and UCLA are hosting Celebrations in honor of this article and Professor Montoya.
Here is the link for the Harvard symposium which will be held next week, March 28th.
We can’t post the article on this website (as per agreement with the source web library). However, here is the link to the online library that houses the article. It is definitely worth a read. http://home.heinonline.org/
Professor Montoya was one of the first to write about Identity and the masks we use to show or hide our selves, especially as Latinas and, in her case, in the legal profession. She moved the world with this article.
You will find attached the poster for the UCLA symposium.
Congratulations, Professor Montoya!
